In my role at SRU's Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, I've spearheaded impactful video and graphic campaigns to promote belonging and inclusion. Through engaging presentations on allyship and contributions to Equity and Inclusion-focused events, I'm dedicated to enhancing a sense of belonging in all spaces, whether personal or professional.
WSRU-TV
VICE PRESIDENT
As the Vice President of WSRU-TV, I lead the creation and execution of captivating shows, ensuring our viewers receive top-notch entertainment. I'm dedicated to empowering our team by providing comprehensive training on production equipment, systems, and processes, fostering a skilled and innovative workforce. Additionally, I personally curate and edit compelling topics for our programs, enriching our content. My role extends to connecting our members with valuable opportunities for hands-on experience in video production, writing, and hospitality, enhancing their growth and our station's success.
JUMPSTART
MENTOR COORDINATOR
In my role as the Peer Mentor Coordinator at the Jumpstart Transitional Mentorship Program, I play a pivotal role in guiding and supervising our mentors as they support incoming students throughout their first year at SRU. Collaborating closely with the program director, I am instrumental in designing and implementing engaging programming aimed at fostering a sense of community, enhancing academic engagement, promoting professional development, and nurturing individual identities. Moreover, I take the lead in organizing events during Jumpstart Week, a comprehensive introduction to the university and its abundant resources, creating a seamless transition for our new students into their academic journey at SRU.
THE SOUL FOOD INITIATIVE
PRODUCER
As a vital part of the Soul Food Initiative, I've contributed significantly by revamping the program's brand through innovative digital graphics, breathing new life into our visual identity. Collaborating closely with our Executive Producer, Ariana Mixter, I've helped develop a comprehensive shot list and skillfully coordinated with our dedicated crew members, ensuring smooth and successful shoots. Our hard work has not only reshaped the program but also led us to showcase the theme of preserving culture through food at the prestigious Pennsylvania Communication Association conference in September 2023, spreading our message to a wider audience.
PRIDE WEEK | ROCK OUT CIVIC ENGAGEMENT PANEL
My role as a panelist during RockOut's Pride Week Civic Engagement Panel was an incredible opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue. Alongside three other distinguished panelists, we delved into the nuances of civic engagement through the unique lens of the LGBTQ+ community, discussing its benefits, and barriers, and envisioning a brighter future locally. Drawing from my extensive experience with SRU's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, I brought a distinct emphasis on allyship, fostering a richer conversation that ultimately enriched our understanding of community involvement. This experience was not only invaluable but also reinforced my commitment to promoting inclusivity and equity.
